Vocabulary 10 - C1

Monica and Rachel visit Tony at his new apartment.
Tony is excited. "Welcome! I made pizza!"
Monica stretches her arms. "Thanks, Tony! But I just finished a workout. I shouldn't spoil my appetite."

Rachel looks around. "Wow, this place is... unique."
"It is!" Tony beams. "I found this amazing turtle at the pet store. His name is Michelangelo."
Rachel notices a stack of pizza boxes. "Have you been eating a lot of pizza, Tony?"
"Maybe," Tony admits. "I might have a slight pizza problem."

Suddenly, there's a knock. Two men in uniforms stand at the door.
"City authority," one says. "We've had noise complaints."
Tony blushes.
"Michelangelo can be... enthusiastic at night."
Rachel raises an eyebrow. A teenager would not make so much noise, she thinks. She opens the door to reveal three large tortoises.
"These aren’t just pets", explains Tony, “they are a teenage band. They haven’t finished setting up."
Monica shakes her head, chuckling. She can’t help but smile. "Only you, Tony."
Rachel grins. This was going to be an interesting visit.
Monica and Rachel join in Tony's laughter, imagining a turtle band, in awe of Tony's creative approach to life’s everyday moments. They spend the rest of the evening, watching Tony conduct a lively jam session for his three musical turtles in his lively home, savouring some of the pizza and sharing the enthusiasm. The city authority forgot about the noise complaint, charmed by the melodic symphony of the teenage band. As they say, only Tony knows how to turn an ordinary visit into a memorable concert!
