Ross and Monica sat in "The Lazy Harp", sipping tea. Ross, ever the observant one, noticed a man across the room acting strangely. "He keeps staring at that woman," he whispered, "It's bordering on harassment."
Monica stretched her quads under the table. "He does seem rather intelligent, though," she said. "Perhaps he's composing a poem about her in his head."
Ross gave her a look. "Or maybe he's planning his escape route after he steals her handbag." Just then, the man stood up, bowed deeply to the woman, and began performing karate moves in the middle of the pub.
Everyone stared. The woman, unfazed, continued reading her book. The man finished his kata with a flourish, bowed again, and sat back down. "Perhaps he was just demonstrating exceptional manner," Ross muttered, thoroughly confused.
Later, outside the pub, they saw the man again, lighting what smelled suspiciously like marijuana.
"Well," Monica said, "that explains the…performance."
Ross, still bewildered, began a long explanation about the potential psychological effects of certain herbs, using words Monica didn’t quite understand. She just smiled and nodded, relieved the strange display wasn't actual harassment, just a hazy afternoon in Dublin
